I Was Made to Love Her is Stevie Wonder's seventh studio album, released in April 1968 on Tamla. The album was primarily produced by Henry Cosby, with Wonder co-producing several tracks. Recording sessions took place at Hitsville U.S.A. studios in Detroit, and the record shows Wonder's evolution towards a more soul and funk sound, moving away from the youthful pop of his earlier work.

The album includes the hit title track "I Was Made to Love Her", which reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 on the R&B chart. Other notable songs include "I'd Be a Fool Right Now" and a cover of "My Girl" (by The Temptations). The album also features original compositions by Wonder and collaborations with his mentor Clarence Paul and other Motown writers.

The album peaked at number 45 on the Billboard 200 and number 7 on the R&B albums chart. It was a commercial and critical success, solidifying Stevie Wonder as a creative force at Motown. The song "I Was Made to Love Her" was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance in 1969, and the album is considered a milestone in his early career.
