Signed, Sealed & Delivered is the eleventh studio album by Stevie Wonder, released on August 7, 1970. It marks a transitional point in his career, as Wonder began to take greater creative control, co-writing and co-producing most of the songs.
The album includes the hit title track 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours', which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 on the R&B chart. The song was co-written by Wonder, Lee Garrett, Syreeta Wright, and Lula Mae Hardaway, and features Wonder playing drums and bass.
Although the album was well received, peaking at number 25 on the Billboard 200, Wonder was dissatisfied with the creative limitations imposed by Motown. This record represents one of his last works under the label's strict control before renegotiating his contract in 1971.
