Crash of the Crown is the sixteenth studio album by the American band Styx, released on June 18, 2021. It is the second album featuring guitarist and vocalist Will Evankovich as a touring member and producer, and the first to have drummer Todd Sucherman as a primary songwriter on several tracks.
The album was primarily recorded at the band members' personal studios, with production by Will Evankovich. Mixing and mastering were handled by Evankovich and sound engineer Jim Scott. The record was released under Universal Music Enterprises, marking Styx's return to a major label after several independent releases.
Crash of the Crown received generally positive reviews, highlighting its progressive sound and group cohesion. The album debuted at number 77 on the Billboard 200 chart, and its lead single, 'Crash of the Crown', received airplay on classic rock radio. The promotional tour was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic but took place in 2022.
