Heart Over Mind is Tammy Wynette's twenty-first studio album, released in 1990 by Epic Records. Again produced by Steve Buckingham, the album continued the contemporary country style of its predecessor, with arrangements blending acoustic instrumentation and modern production. It was recorded at Sound Stage Studios in Nashville.

The lead single, «Heart Over Mind», peaked at number 44 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The album also includes a cover of «Two of a Kind», a song originally recorded by the duo of Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn. Despite not generating major radio hits, the album was appreciated by Wynette's loyal fanbase.

The album cover features Wynette in a red dress with a serious expression, symbolizing themes of heartbreak and emotional strength. Heart Over Mind was Wynette's last studio album before a multi-year hiatus, and it reflects her ability to adapt to changes in the country genre without losing her essence.
