On the Border is the third studio album by The Eagles, released on March 22, 1974. It marked a shift toward a harder rock sound, partly due to the addition of guitarist Don Felder as a touring and studio member.

Initially recorded with Glyn Johns, the band was dissatisfied with the sound and hired Bill Szymczyk to remix and produce new songs. The album peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200 and was certified platinum.

It includes the band's first major hit, 'Already Gone', and the ballad 'Best of My Love', which became their first number-one single. The album solidified The Eagles' reputation as a dominant force in 1970s rock.
