Laugh Track is the tenth studio album by American band The National, released on September 18, 2023, through 4AD. It was announced and released as a surprise just two days after the release of its predecessor, First Two Pages of Frankenstein.
The album was recorded at Long Pond, Aaron Dessner's studio in upstate New York, during the same sessions as its predecessor. It features collaborations with Bon Iver, Rosanne Cash, and the American indie rock band The Beths.
The title comes from an instrumental track that Matt Berninger would play during breaks in the recording sessions. The title track, Laugh Track, was released as a single on the same day as the album announcement, along with a music video directed by Tom Berninger.
