Christmas Card is the first Christmas album by The Temptations, released in October 1970 under the Gordy label, a subsidiary of Motown. It was produced by Norman Whitfield, who had previously worked with the group on hits like 'Cloud Nine' and 'Papa Was a Rollin' Stone'.
The album includes covers of Christmas classics such as 'Silent Night' and 'White Christmas', as well as original songs like 'Christmas Everyday' and 'The Little Drummer Boy'. Although not a major commercial success, it reached number 35 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
Recording took place at Hitsville U.S.A. studios in Detroit, with the classic lineup of the group: Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, and Dennis Edwards. It is the group's only Christmas album released during their Motown era.
