House Party is the sixteenth studio album by The Temptations, released in November 1975. It was again produced by Norman Whitfield, although by then the group had begun to experiment with a shift in sound towards funk and psychedelic soul.
The album includes the single 'Glasshouse', which peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Hot Soul Singles chart, and 'A Song for You', a cover of the Leon Russell classic. However, the album did not enter the Billboard 200, though it reached number 35 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
For this album, the group's lineup included Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Dennis Edwards, Richard Street, and Damon Harris. It was the last Temptations album produced by Norman Whitfield, who left Motown shortly after.
