Love Story is a studio album by Tony Bennett, released in 1971 by Columbia Records. The album was produced by Don Costa and recorded between 1970 and 1971 at Columbia's recording studios in New York.
The album's title references the hit 1970 film 'Love Story', and includes the title track composed by Francis Lai and Carl Sigman. Bennett also covers other popular songs of the era, such as 'We've Only Just Begun' by the Carpenters and 'For All We Know' from the soundtrack of the film 'Lovers and Other Strangers'.
The album reached number 23 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified gold by the RIAA. Although not one of Bennett's most remembered works, it reflects his ability to adapt to the contemporary sounds of the early 1970s.
