Monster on a Leash is the twelfth studio album by Tower of Power, released in 1991 on Epic Records. It was recorded at The Plant studios in Sausalito, California, and mixed by sound engineer David Luke.
The album featured guest musicians such as guitarist Jeff Baxter and keyboardist Chester Thompson. The title track, 'Monster on a Leash', became a minor hit on the R&B charts.
Despite promotion from Epic Records, the album did not achieve major commercial impact and the band was subsequently dropped from the label. However, it is remembered for tracks like 'Mr. Toad's Wild Ride' and 'Soul Vaccination'.
