Right for the Time is the thirty-seventh studio album by Waylon Jennings, released in 1996. It was his first album for the independent label Justice Records after leaving RCA Nashville.
The album was produced by Jennings along with Don Was, and features collaborations with musicians such as guitarist Reggie Young and drummer Jim Keltner. The title track, 'Right for the Time', was written by Jennings and Tony Joe White.
Although it did not generate major country chart hits, the album was well received by critics for its rawer, more thoughtful sound, reflecting Jennings' artistic maturity at that stage of his career.
