Celebration, Volume 1 is a posthumous album by Wayne Shorter released on August 23, 2024, by Blue Note Records. It was produced from recordings made by Shorter's quartet, with Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci, and Brian Blade, together with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The album includes original compositions by Shorter and orchestral arrangements by various collaborators, including John Zorn and others. The work was conceived as a celebration of Shorter's life and music, following his death in 2023.
Celebration, Volume 1 was received positively by critics, highlighting the fusion of chamber jazz with symphonic orchestration. It is the first of a planned series of volumes documenting Shorter's final legacy.
