Band of Brothers is Willie Nelson's 65th studio album, released on June 17, 2014. It was his first album of new original material in nearly two decades, as most of his recent releases had been covers or collaborations.
The album was produced by Buddy Cannon and recorded at Pedernales Recording Studio in Spicewood, Texas. It includes nine songs written by Nelson himself, along with covers of songs by other songwriters such as "The Wall" by Paul Simon and "Whenever I Come Around" by Vince Gill.
Band of Brothers debuted at number 5 on the Billboard 200, becoming Nelson's highest-charting studio album in over 30 years. Critics praised his return to original songwriting and the cohesive traditional country sound.
