Chocolate Mountain was Wilson Pickett's second and final album for RCA Victor, released in 1976. Recorded at Criteria Recording Studios in Miami, Florida, it continued his exploration of funk and soul with disco influences.
The album includes the single Love Will Keep Us Together, a cover of the Captain & Tennille hit, which achieved some R&B chart rotation. However, the record did not meet expected sales.
After this release, Pickett left RCA Victor and took a recording hiatus. Chocolate Mountain represents the end of his most prolific period in the 1970s, with polished production but reduced commercial impact.
