The record was produced by Jon Tiven, Sally Tiven, and Pickett himself. It featured musicians such as guitarist Lucky Peterson and saxophonist David 'Fathead' Newman.
The album received positive reviews for revitalizing Pickett's soul sound. It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 2000.
